Michael Hammerling

Michael is a molecular biologist who has worked on experimental evolution of the genetic code, cell-free molecular prototyping, and directed evolution of the ribosome. He led the lab team at Pandemic Response Lab in developing a genomic surveillance pipeline for SARS-CoV-2 and later served as head of molecular engineering at PRL and Neochromosome, focusing on noncanonical amino acid incorporation and biologics
